EVANGELISM IN THE GAY COMMUNITY

We share the gospel on Cedar Springs in the heart of Oak Lawn. We gays and lesbians to know their identity can be something different in Yeshua. They need to hear that the gospel transforms. We have some great conversations there, and sometimes conversations can last up to ½ hour. Many people are willing to listen. However, there are some that are so rebellious that they will not listen. But we’re called to do what we can, and that is what we want to do, because we want to see people transformed and saved.

We have churches today who deceive many, teaching that homosexuality is ok with God. This is not true. People have itching ears and they want to continue in their sin.  We need to have good conversations with the  community and tell them that they have a Father who loves them but He wants them to repent and turn from their sin.

John the Baptist preached the gospel of the Kingdom: “Repent, because the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” The Hebrew word for repent is T’shuva. It means “turn from sin and turn to God.” We often don’t understand the meaning of this fully. It means turn from our own ways and return to God’s ways, His Torah (instruction). Matthew 4:17 tells us that Yeshua taught the same gospel: “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

Yeshua told the disciples to follow Him, and this is what we’re called to do. We’re called to preach the gospel.

This is why we go to the Oaklawn area of Dallas. We want sound doctrine to overcome false doctrines.
